BEWARE of this EBay seller who goes by the name "clippercutie." On 4/1/08, I purchased a 12 mp digital camera/video recorder/mp3 player from "clippercutie" on EBay for a total of $69.99. The camera itself sold for $51 and the shipping fee was $18. I received the camera on 4/8/08, read the manual, and tried to take the beautiful pictures as ascribed in "clippercutie's" advertisement on EBay.

I immediately noticed that the digital images on the camera's screen were surrounded by rainbows of colors and the pictures on the camera were absolutely horrible. The camera was defective and/or possibly returned by someone else, though it was described as new. I contacted the seller on 4/10/08, well within his 7-day return policy, and informed him that I wanted to return the defective camera for a full refund or exchange. Instead of providing the return information, the seller sent me a web address on how to use a digital camera. Again, I informed the seller that I wanted to return the product but he refused to communicate with me and did not give me a return authorization number (RA) as he requires in his return policy.

Since I paid through PayPal, I am able to file a dispute with them regarding the seller's defective product. Once they investigate the matter, they will make a decision and, more than likely, issue me the seller's return information and a full refund.

In the meantime, "clippercutie" gets to keep my $70, continue to advertise his junk cameras (((ROR redacted))) and rips off other sellers.

BEWARE OF EBAY SELLER "clippercutie." Don't be his next victim!

Silicon Valley Peripherals LOSES in PayPal Disupte - FULL REFUND issued to SVP Customer by PayPal

#9Author of original report

Thu, May 08, 2008

On May 6, 2008, PayPal ruled in my favor in the consumer dispute I filed with them against Silicon ValleyPeripherals, aka Silicon Valley Imaging. PayPal was able to retrieve from SVP the entire costs of the camera and shipping and I received a full refund in the amount of $70. Even though I waited an entire 30+ days for the PayPal dispute to be resolved, it was well worth the wait. Please, save yourself the trouble and headache - do not conduct any business, EBay or otherwise, with Silicon Valley Peripherals.

Watchout for the Paypal too

I have bought many things, maybe near $2000 or more over time, I think maybe near a $1000 or more this year, I do not like being abused, I can not remember how many good things I bought and how many bad things I bought, maybe a large amount were more bad things than good. When you find your in trouble Paypal can wear a mask of being kind and helpful when you need your money returned.

When someone hacked into my account it took 3 phone calls before I could get any information about getting my money back, and I had to get my banks to change my accounts and bank cards. When buying something, Paypal will show $2000 coverage, in small print the exception, they only give back $200 and promise the rest from the seller, anyone can be long gone and never seen again, never to see the money again, Paypal will keep saying to wait, Paypal can be silly to talk to, they will tell you it yours, then complain they owe you nothihg.

I find Paypal to be as much of a deception as the sellers can be, what I know of paypal, its not worth buying more than $200 from anyone, to be safe and get your money back, there too difficult to reason with, you must call several times and get them to fill out a report, you may get your money back, or continue to make you wait, maybe forever.
