I'm an passionate skin care specialist who is highly skilled in art of facials and body waxing. I've always wanted the dream job in a spa. When I saw Silky Skin Wax add on Craig's list I promptly replyed with my resume. The add sounded perfect. During the interview process the owner Nury made feel she would "take care" of me and help me build my clients and slowly pass on her because she was wanting to work less. She made me feel if I did great job and showed my worth I had oppurtunity to grow and move up in the company. She offered me 40% commission to start but I had to Train for 7 days for free to prove my skills. I performed all the waxes on her spa menu while getting tiped from paying clients I was not allowed to collect any of them. To begin with I had to pay for my uniform $45 and insurance $150 put upfront to Nury Malo. After the first week she droped my commission to 35% by then I was already out any extra money and time and couldn't risk losing the job. This as we all know is a slow time in SWFL for work being out of season. She still encouraged me all the benifits working for her.

Then Nury presented me with the perfect oppurtunity to put my passion to the test. She left on vacation to Peru originally for 4 weeks and I was to work 9am-8pm m-f and 10-4pm on Saturday. During that time she extended her vacation another 3 weeks which led me to belive I was doing a great job. Clients were rebooking with me and adding additional services and I was marketing and brining in my own. Shortly after the owner comes back from vacation she bluntly decides the morning I get paid she was going to keep half of my commission check. When I told her it was wrong And I would not accept half she then told me she wasn't going to pay me any of it! she had very superior additude towards keeping my money and I couldn't do anything to stop her. Later that day I also received two emails after the case saying I "owe" for training. Nury in the past has charged employees to train but this was not what her and I agreed. I also have a young daughter I enrolled in daycare because of my full-time PLUS schedule. I thought hard work pays off and was so thankful for my job. I thought I had a secure job to provide for my family. I really hope she never does this agian to anyone else. Don't be fooled by silky skin wax!
