We purchased two time shares with Silverleaf Resorts. We paid timely for years, then after a series of tragedies (loss of our only two children and our grandson in space of two months) we fell behind on our note. We were told that we needed to make a double payment and we sent a check for $700. We then received a phone call stating that they needed the exact amount of $706 by phone check. We were assured that they would return our $700 check uncashed. We approved the phone check, but they had already cashed our check. We called the the next month, June, and were assured that the money would be refunded to our account. We called again in July and August and got the same promise. This month, September, we were told that the check was mailed to the wrong address in July and returned. If true, then why did they not try tell me this when I called in August? Then a supervisor got on the phone and said that they would have to have proof of our payment from our bank before they could issue a check. I told him that they, by their own statement, had already issued a check and all he needed to do was mail it to my correct address. I told him that I could see the double payments, made two days apart, on my online Silverleaf account, and that if I could see it then surely he could see the payment was received by their bank. To date we still do not have our $700. We have faithfully paid on our account monthly for many years with the exception of about 2 payments during our family tragedy, and have caught these up plus more, but we have not been able to schedule a vacation for about 2 years. They currently owe us twelve weeks of vacation!
