Complaint Review: Simon Gift Cards

On two occasions I attempted to use the Simon gift card to purchase items on the internet. On both occasions they were declined. After being declined it takes 6 days for the money to be returned to my card. Each time there was no reason for it being declined. I called the toll free number and spoke to a representative in India. I asked why it takes 6 days for the money to be returned to my card.

To alleviate the wait the business has to fax on letterhead with the company name, the name of the person who is representing the company and the fax must state that they will not use the money. It appears that Simon does not trust others which makes me believe that we should not trust them. I requested to speak to a manager and was told that one was not available. I have e-mailed this company 2 times and have not received a response.

My latest e-mail I told them that I was considering contacting the Attorney General or the Better Business Bureau in Illinois. I will not use the Simon gift card and recommend others to purchase pre-paid gift cards from other companies that may be more creditable.
