This company charged my Credit Card $169.95 for a membership fee I NEVER authorized. They tied it to Shillouetts catalog. I hadn't ordered from them in two years..I have no idea how or why I was charged. I immediately disputed the charge with the credit card company. I called simple escapes and surprise surprise thet were absoulutely no help. Except to tell me the charge stemmed from Shillouettes. They suggested I cancel my membership to stop further charges. I refused to do that, thinking it would then appear I had joined in the first place..I called Shillouettes and they were very helpful. They No longer deal with simple escapes. I guess it hurt their image. In any case they were not surprised and offered to correct future charges from their end..From reading the other complaints, catalog discounts appear to be one source of these charges to unwitting customers. Travel discounts also..
This is so obvious a scam and so wide spread. I am amazed its allowed to go on. We consumers have to stick together and report this stuff to help others from getting taken. Bravo to Ripoff Report for giving us away to do it..
