Simple Filings is a scam! I made the simple mistake of thinking this was a government-run website. They charged me $295 for a "simple" DBA application. After calling the correct State agency, I called SimpleFiling the NEXT day for a full refund. They withheld $100. They gave me the run-around about how much paper-work they already did. I found out that a DBA filed through my state is $29. SimpleFiling.com is simply preying on vulnerable new small business owners. I feel that this is unfair practice especially for new small business owners trying to make a living after a huge company lay-off. If they treat new customers this way, I don't want anything to do with this conniving company..."con" being the operative word.
