I also got a call from Simplicity Brides telling me a won a cruise, it is just a ploy to get people getting ready for a wedding to spend entirely too much money when they are trying to get married. I think it is horrible that they pray on people that are trying to start a new future together. Not only did they con us into getting us to their presentation, but they were rude as hell when we figured out their con.

We left without listening to their presentation or their bogus trip they said we won. It was a waste of gas and time though, and the extreme rudeness of their guy their made me want to punch him in his squirrelly looken face. Be aware that these people tell you that you won a trip, they say you registered at a bridal shop, they make it sound real and did not even mention anything to me about a presentation, be aware it is a scam, I think they got my name off the Davids Bridal website, when I went on there to look at wedding dresses.

I will be giving them a call tomorrow cause I read on here that they sell their customers info for their own personal gain, so I would suggest not looking on their website or giving them any of your personal info, or registering for anything from them, or you will get scam calls that are never ending.

I forgot to add (Scam Artist) I do know what was said to me on the phone. I am sure that there is a not a supervisor standing next to every telemarketer to make sure they are following a script, please, give me a break. It is pretty sad that you have to act like somebody won something just to get them to come to your little sales show.

Not to mention, when we got there, we where treated extremely rudely by the guys you say are so funny, I didn't think they where funny at all. As soon as they figured out, they wheren't getting any commission from us, they treated us like s**t. I really don't appreciate you speaking of me like I am a dumb*** that does not know what was said on the phone or how myself and my husband (and children) were treated in person. Please don't insult my intelligence and the intelligence of the other readers of this site with your oh so obvious sales pitch up there, stick to the phone scams, it might get you further.

Why don't you try to run that scam somewhere else (this is a rip off site) duhhhh. It was Simplicity Brides that called and I did not register for anything at a bridal shop or online or anywhere else, the only thing I did was look at dresses on Davids Bridal (which if you would have read my report, is who I said sold my info to your company). Anyway, I jus wanted to clear up the fact that I know exactly who called and where they got their information from, that is why I have been avoided by everyone at Simplicity Brides and Davids Bridal. It is funny, I forgot all about it, untill your comment trying to scam people was on here LOL.

Simplicity Brides Scam

Additionally - I forgot to mention this before - we are NOT the same as Southern Bridal Registry. There are two companies, one called Southern Bridal Registry & one called Simplicity Gourmet who's bridal registry division is Simplicity Brides. We are competitors, we are not the same. We advertise similar products but they are not the same product lines. We do market our products and services in similar ways but we are in NO WAY affiliated the following direct marketers of Bridal Registry home products: Southern Bridal Registry, Royal Prestige, or Selected Brides.

Since this bride has listed both names in her complaint, I feel it is a bit unfair considering she isn't quite sure who's show she attended b/c both names are mentioned.

Simplicity Brides Scam

I would like to clear up any confusion regarding this report.

1) We DO NOT, in ANY WAY, obtain information from David's Bridal. We only obtain leads from brides who physically fill out a registration at a bridal event at our booth or through ads we have in bridal magazines and online.

2) We DO NOT, in ANY WAY, sell or give your information that is entrusted to us to any other companies. In fact, our registration cards, implicitly say, "The purpose of this give-a-way is to market our Kitchen, Dining, & Assorted House Wares. By completing this card, you are authorizing authorized dealers of Simplicity Gourmet to contact you by phone or email. Your information will not be sold to any other party."

3) I understand that being selected for something like this can be very exciting, it's because of this that a lot of brides miss the details of the conversation. For example, the give-a-way is not for a cruise as this bride has stated in her complaint, it's for a 3 day / 2 night all inclusive resort package for two and a his and her embroidered apron set. Since she seems to have missed the details of the actual package, it's possible she missed details of the rest of the conversation. Our appointment setters have a very strict script to follow. After giving the details of the gift package (which this bride did not have correct), the appointment setter begins to tell her about our event where she can come pick up the package. The script clearly states, "Now, the reason we give you a bridal gift package is because we would love to share our story and showcase some of our products for you and your fianc. We'll be showcasing our exclusive lines of fine china, elegant crystal, designer tableware, gourmet cutlery, and waterless/greaseless cookware. In fact, your host will even be cooking in the system for you and your fianc and the other couples at the show. Any you may even get to sample some of the things he prepares. So, if you and your fianc like to cook, like to eat, or like going out to comedy clubs, you will enjoy this b/c these guys are really funny. You guys wouldn't mind some free food an entertainment would you?" We clearly mention several times, that they are attended a registry showcase.

4) To receive the gift package, you do not have to purchase anything at the showcase. Another point that is clearly outlined in the script, "Most of the couples tell us they still need some of these things anyway, so if you and your fianc see some things that you really like you get to use your discounts at our show. Now, you might not see anything that you like, that's perfectly fine, you'll still receive your vacation package just for enjoying the free show and laughing at our jokes. Does that sound fair enough?
