Refer to IGIA invoice #138908 dated 9/22/05, order Ref #7705785.

On 9/18/2005, I saw an informercial for the Singer Lazer Storm Vacuum. The deal was 3 payments of $39.95 plus shipping and a steamer would come free. The informercial said that if you "called within 10 minutes" that the 3rd payment of $39.95 would be dropped.

When I called - within the 10 minutes - the representative also said that if I would make the entire payment at one time, that I could get a third vacuum for free, just paying for shipping. I agreed to this.

The vacuum's were delivered on 9/27/2005. On 9/26/2005, my debit card was charged a total of $325.25. I was charged for 3 payments at $39.95 instead of 2. I was charged $20 for the "free" steamer,$79.90 for the third vacuum, $30 for five-year warranty and $75.50 shipping.

I called on 9/29/2005 and had an extended arguement with the representative who kept repeating "this is the correct price for the purchase". He kept ignoring everything I said about the infomercial offers. He offered to send me a "free steamer" which I didn't want since there was already one that I PAID for.

I asked to speak to a Supevisor, but was only put on hold for several extended periods. The representative said that a refund would be posted to my debit card on 10/10/2005, but I have received nothing. The total amount that should have been refunded to my account was $139.85, however, I think I should be refunded my entire $325.25 just for having to go through this unnecessary process. Also, I'm sure the $30 I paid for extended warranty is useless.

My order #changed from 77***** to #77*****, then to #77*****. The last correspondence that I had was their promise that I would be refunded the entire amount since my order had been cancelled. I have e-mailed them numerous times and sat on hold on the customer service line for hours. I offered to return all three vacuum's if they would send me the pre-paid shipping labels along with the refund.

I filed my complaints with the customer service on my invoice. However, I eventually contacted the Singer company directly. They informed me that they had a court injunction forbidding IGIA from selling the vacuum's under the Singer name and gave me another e-mail address for complaints. But, I see from the internet that Singer is still selling Lazer Storm vacuum's.

By the way, the vacuums are worthless except as hand-held corded vacuums for spot cleaning. The floor/carpet attachement is useless. Sure, it will pick up marbles or gravel from carpet, but it won't touch lint, pet hair or plain dirt.

Refer to IGIA invoice #138908 dated 9/22/05, order Ref #7705785.

On 9/18/2005, I saw an informercial for the Singer Lazer Storm Vacuum. The deal was 3 payments of $39.95 plus shipping and a steamer would come free. The infomercial said that if you "called within 10 minutes" that the 3rd payment of $39.95 would be dropped. When I called - within the 10 minutes - the representative also said that if I would make the entire payment at one time, that I could get a third vacuum for free, just paying for shipping. I agreed to this. I also agreed to a 5-year warranty on all three for $10 each and ordered three filters at $5 each.

The vacuum's were delivered on 9/27/2005. On 9/26/2005, my debit card was charged a total of $325.25. I was charged for 3 payments at $39.95 instead of 2. I was charged $20 for the steamer and charged $79.90 for the third vacuum. I was charged for the extra warranty and $75.50 for shipping. There was nothing as far as the replacent filters.

I called on 9/29/2005 and had an extended arguement with the representative who kept repeating "this is the correct price for the purchase". He kept ignoring everything I said about the infomercial offers. He offered to send me a "free steamer" which
I didn't want since there was already one that I PAID for.

I asked to speak to a Supevisor, but was only put on hold for several extended periods. The representative said that a refund would be posted to my debit card on 10/10/2005, but as of today, 12/13/2005, I have received nothing. The total amount that should be refunded to my account is $139.85, however, I think I should be refunded my entire $325.25 just for having to go through this unnecessary process.

I have since had numerous e-mails from the IGIA company (response@stormvac.com). I contacted the Singer company and was told they had an injunction against IGIA to stop them from selling the vac's with the Singer name attached. However, I notice that Singer still sells the same vac with a slightly different name, as does IGIA.

My account number has been changed from #7705785 to #7735207 and then to #7771673. I have called service #1-800-974-8590 and been told that their "system" shows I am to get a total refund but that they are backed up with orders/requests/complaints and the check would be issued as soon as possible.

I can't understand how a national, very public business can get away with this kind of thievery and nobody can do anything about it. I contacted my bank, but was told that any debit card transaction like this was treated as a cash sale and there is nothing they will do. I have filed a complaint with the BBB but have heard nothing from them - probably won't.

I guess I'm just screwed out of the money. Maybe everyone who has been ripped off should start just calling the IGIA ordering number and keep flooding them with calls so no orders can go through.
