On August 28, 2005, during the infomercial on Channel FOX11 TV, I ordered ONE set of the Singer Lazer Storm Vacuum. With this order, one free Singer Lazer Storm Vacuum was added. Instead of 4 payments of $39.95, only 3 payments would be required, during the infomercial. I opted to pay in full per my credit card.

I ordered the Steamer, for an additional $20 or $25 as per the phone call. I thought the Steamer was free for having opted for paying the full price. The addition of $20 or $25 was I thought, for the Steamer's ATTACHMENTS. There were shipping charges of $18.50 for each item. I tried to get a total of the amount being charged, but the telephone order taker kept on adding other 'specials' which I declined.

On September 2, 2005, I made inquiries to my charge card company, and was advised that 'Singer Television' had been the company that had billed a total $426.18--for two sets! There is no way of getting a response from the Singer Lazer Storm Vacuum merchant--only by email to the customercare@singerlazer.com. When I went to the web site, their deal was for some $59 for one Lazer Storm Vacuum. Ergo, the infomercial on TV was false--I was actually paying for two vacuums, not receiving one free. Also, I was billed twice.

Company's "Rebuttal" Unconvincing

Surely there is a pattern here, with so many people being surprised to find out that they had bought four of the units. How many people buy four vacuum cleaners at a time, unless they are running a janitorial service?

Obviously no one was aware that they were AGREEING to a 2nd set of vacuums.

It appears that Singers response for everyone being over charged is that they AGRREED to a 2nd set of vacuums in order to get the steamer. That is a lie. Obviously with everyone being in the same situation, no one was under the impression that they ordered a 2nd set of vacuums. There fore your adverstising and your sales tactics are misleading and from what I can tell most likely illegal. I think you should be ready for some class action lawsuits.

*** This is in response to your complaint about the your bill. According in our system, you have purchased for the B1G1 free offer and AGREED to get the second set with free steamer and its attachments in which you'll just have to pay additional $20 for shipping and handling. We did not double charge you or anything, please be advised of that matter.

*** We appreciate your consideration on this matter. Thank you.
