Sirius Radio - Alex Bennett Hate speech incorrectly discribed as Left Talk New York New York
This morning, Mr. Bennett and a male caller who is also a self described pimp mused about how Ike Turner may have gotten a raw deal and then speculated on nothing more than their shared demeaning attitude towards the women in general, speculated that Tina Turner may have contributed to the violence in her marriage. Then, as if to provide an exclamation point, Bennett added that OJ Simpson often made accusations that Nicole had abused him during the course of their marriage, i.e the victim may have some how deserved and was getting the benefit of the doubt because she was a woman. The Alex Bennett show is often filled with comments about which female head of state might be good looking enough to m********e to. There are constant reminders that Alex used to date strippers and has a girlfriend who is one third his age. And this is called left or liberal talk. It is not. And it is disrespectful and outright fraudulent to call this political talk at all. It's one thing to simply turn off the radio but the fact is that the subscribers are paying Mr. Bennett's salary. Complaints to Sirius and calls to Mr Bennett are brushed aside as typical listener frustration. The fact is that many Sirius listeners are not aware they are funding this kind of programming in part because Mr. Bennett has a limited audience. But they are still paying for it and need to know how dismissive the customer service department at Sirius is to such concerns. I will not renew my multiple subscriptions when they run out. But I advise anyone who wished to purchase a subscription to Sirius, especially anyone looking for a progressive point of view not to be taken in by any claims that such programming is actually provided.

Oh, and Debbie?...How about I fire thousands(3278 total) of rockets and mortars at YOUR house for a year. Don't try to retaliate, as then you'd be just like Israel. As of yet, Israel has not done what it rightfully should...annhilate those who attack them.

I have subscribed to Sirius radio for the past three years and listen to Alex Bennett quite a bit. I find that his comments on politics closely mirror my own views. Despite the comments in this report, I did not know before reading it that he used to date strippers (so what) or that his current girlfriend is 1/3 his age (again, so what).
What Alex Bennett says is hard to find anywhere else, with the exception of Lynn Samuels, and is a refreshing change from the Rush Limbaugh right-wing drivel that is the bulk of talk radio on terra radio. What Alex Bennett does NOT do is rubber stamp every act that Israel commits, and I suspect this is the real reason behind criticism of him. Especially in the past few weeks, he has been very critical of Israel, as any feeling person should be because of the events in Gaza. I'm surprised that he hasn't been attacked more, either directly for his views on Israel, or obliquely, as in this criticism.

I do not understand how you have been ripped off. You have stated that you will discontinue the services with Sirius. They did not force you to listen to what was apparently some rather ignorant remarks made by the broadcaster, however you made the choice to listen to it. I agree that if those comments were made (I did not hear it, I do not have Sirius, I am taking you word for it) then they are out of line, however you were not taken advantage of. This site is for people that have been ripped off in some way, not just offended.
