Complaint Review: Sirius Radio

Sirius Radio Sirius Radio XM Nationwide

I only authorized a one time use of my credit card when I spoke with the rep from Sirius Radio, I specifically told them not to keep my credit card information, I was assured they would not keep my information. When it was time to renew they charged my credit card and when I called to dispute they acted like they had done nothing wrong. I really enjoyed listening to Sirius radio, but after that I will not ever use them again. Why did they feel they had the right to charge my credit card for services I have not used and they didn't even know if I wanted but most of all didn't know if I could still afford them. My husband had recently lost his job and we were going to use our credit card to buy groceries, we didn't get food and our credit card went over limit.

I don't think Sirius Radio has the right to renew my subscribtion with out my permission, I have my call recorded for this reason. I told them that if I wanted to renew I would call and let them know. Wow you must work for Sirius since my report was just posted and you already responded. What is fair is fair and if I told them I would call them if I wanted to renew they should have respected my decision. I paid for what I used in advance and if I tell them I will renew at my discretion I should have that right. I didn't call and complain when they turned my service off at the end of month, I knew that I had to pay if I wanted to continue using that service. They decided for me to renew since I didn't call and what is the responsibility I didn't take, not calling to cancel, they canceled for me and renew and I need to accept responsibility. REALLY. If they hadn't cancelled my service and I was still using the service I would understand but they canceled when my 6 months were up.

When YOU originally signed up for Sirius radio, YOU agreed that THEY could charge YOUR CARD when it became time for a renewal. While Im sure YOU said "don't keep my card on file" there is a reality here that YOU are choosing to ignore. The reality is that your card is kept on file for both YOUR protection AND their protection. If YOU did not opt out of the renewal, then the COMPUTER is going to automatically charge the card on file. YEs its upsetting, its understandable to be upset. But YOU had a part to play in all of this, so YOU cant sit there and place the blame on THEM when it was YOUR responsibility to cancel the renewal BEFORE it goes through. THEY are ONLY doing what YOU agreed to when YOU signed up for the service. Don't you just LOVE automated systems?? While Im 100% sure it makes YOU feel better to place the blame squarely on THIER backs, the reality is that YOU DID NOT CANCEL THE SERVICE!!!! THAT is on YOU!!! Accept YOUR PART of the problem and move on. That is ALL you can do BECAUSE you agreed to ALL OF THIS when YOU signed up. Don't you remember the nice person on the other side of the line informing you to read the Terms and conditions on their website.
