I was curious to go online and see what would come up if I typed in the name "Sister Mary Joseph, CEO" and I came upon exactly what I expected: a scam. Looking for a new job is difficult, especially if it is your first career. This is the situation that I am in - - searching for my first "real" job and getting no where. And then I got an email from "Sister Mary Joseph, CEO." In her email she stated was "really impressed with [my] rich work experiences." That alone made me curious, because my "rich work experiences" have been a series of server/hostess jobs.

I just graduated from college not long ago, so my experience is very limited. When I scrolled through the email I saw that "Jane" had sent Sister Mary my resume and said that it looked like a "rough draft." I went over my old resume and saw that yes, in all honesty, it did.

Well, I went ahead and visited the website Sister Mary had included in her email, only to see that they wanted me to pay $100 in order to have my resume put together professionally. No matter who puts my resume together, it's not going to look much better than it is considering the limitations of my work experience. So I left the website and didn't look back until today. I kept Sister Mary's email in my Inbox and looked it over again and that was when I decided to go online and investigate.

The only good thing that came from this email was that I went and completely redid my resume and I have ended up hearing more from potential employers. I just wanted to put my experience out there along with the others that I have seen. I am lucky not to have fallen prey to people that would do such things to someone who is trying to jumpstart their career, and their life, for that matter. I just hope that putting more information out there about "Sister Mary" will end whatever scam she (allegedly a she) is pulling.
