siteforstyle.com/deluxcareco deceptive underhanded Bakersfield Ccalifornia
On August 26th, 2014 I made a purchase on The AMAZON website. After checking out I was offered a free gift if I answered a survey. I completed the survey and was offered a pair of sunglasses if I would pay a charge of $5.99. I provided my email and my credit card. I subsequently received a pair of nice sunglasses. I was not aware that I was under any obligation to purchase additional items and was somewhat surprised when another pair of sunglasses arrived in September. Unfortunately I overlooked a charge on my credit card statement for $98.00 from a company called Deluxcare. I am not sure how I missed the three additional charges of $49.00 between October and December except that period included some health issues that kept me somewhat distracted. I realized in December that something was awry and I received another pair of sunglasses. This prompted my rechecking my credit card statements and finding this company had charged my credit card for $245.00 for sunglasses that I didn't request or order and had no invoices for. When I went online to locate the siteforstyle.com website what came up on my computer was: .http://www.ripoffreport.com/r/Siteforstylecom/internet/Siteforstylecom-Sunglasses-survey-through-SiteforstyleAmazon-Rip-Off-Internet-1168673 with a list of people who had a similar experience. When I realized what had happened I contacted my bank to see if I had any recourse and then called the customer service number for “site for style”. Unfortunately there “customer service” number connects you to a site which services numerous other “companies” and has no way to resolve disputes. The “site for styly” says I checked a box agreeing to abide by the condition set forth by the company obligating me and entitiling them to charge my credit card unless I cancelled within 14 days. I was never aware that I checked a box and if a box was checked they were the one that checked the box. I would never have agreed to take this survey except that it originated with AMAZON but they had no part in the scam. John, Lynchburg,Virginia
