A FYI for people who had photos posted on PhotoPoint. There is a ray of hope.

In a January 8, 2002 article, the San Jose Mercury News said they had been contacted by Pantellic Software President Dale Gass on January 7. In an e-mail to the News, Gass said he is "working on a solution for people to get back the photos that are important to them." He also indicated that customers would be notified by e-mail and a notice posted at the PhotoPoint.com web site if he is able to work out a solution.

My conclusion, no guarantee from Gass. Just a statement that he is working on a solution.

The Mercury had previously run a report on the fallout in the photo website field on January 6, 2002. In that report they stated that "calls to the home of the PhotoPoint's chief executive office were not returned." Gass apparently decided to contact them after they ran the January 6 article.
