Skinny's Lounge is located in the "NoHo Arts District" of North Hollywood, California. The club usually draws a hip hop/rap crowd out, and college students as it is close to the Art Institue of Hollywood. Skinny's Lounge is supposed to be a 21+ club, however if you're a friend of the doorman, you're in! I know this because I went many times before I turned 21, and multiple times after without any ID whatsoever. However if you don't have the pleasure of knowing the door guy, be prepared to be treated like a total a**hole.

In the past months, Skinny's has been trying to "revamp" itself. And I don't mean by redecorating the hideous 80's style interior or improving the sound system, but rather by becoming far more select in who they want to in their venue. Skinny's regularly does music events, often times, hip hop showcases. However recently have decided they cannot allow hip hop music or any hip hop performers into the space because they don't want their reputation tarnished. AKA they don't want black or hispanic music performers in their space.

Just an FYI for any performers looking to showcase there, don't get burned by a racist club!

"AKA they don't want black or hispanic music performers in their space."
Jump to conclusions much?  Changing music genre qualifies as racist, in your opinion, right?
Which one are you....Black or Hispanic?
