I have never heard of GENECARE, PRENATAL CARE TESTING. I have received phone calls from this place at all hours of the day and it is an automated service discussing my outstanding debt of $195.00 that is due now. I spoke to someone very unprofessional and could not provide me with much information. They had an old address and claim they've been sending letters. She asked for my credit card number and I refused and told her it sounded like a scam. I got a bit irate and she became irate and hung up on me. I hope they never call me again because I will call them right back again and complain.
I have contacted the better business bureau and they have stated it is a scam and to not pay it because it does not show up on my credit report. One website I read said that scams are usually less than $200 so the people get sick of arguing with them and just send the money.
I refuse to pay any money and I will make sure people know this is a scam and that is another reason I am writing this for your site. Then I did a few minutes of additional digging, and it got much more interesting. GeneCare, the entity named in the collections letter, no longer exists. DO NOT PAY THE COLLECTIONS AGENCY. It's likely that in the aftermath of GeneCare ceasing operations, someone at Alere thought it would be a good idea to sell off "old debt" that wasn't actually valid debt at all to s****.>
