Complaint Review: Skybeam

Two areas of failure:

 

  • Poor perforamce for what was paid - we pay for 15 MBPS and get 2-3 MBPS
  • Poor Service effectiveness.  One Calls takes weeks (3 weeks in my case) when service goes down. On phone support does not increase speed - after many complaints. I finally gave up.

Skybeam now is Rise Broadband. We have been with them for about 10 years since "aircanopy" days. It just keep getting worse over the years. Had the system die on us, and it took 3 weeks to get a service call. 3 Weeks! 

Now get this, we pay $70/mo. for 15 MBPS speed, well "up to" that speed. Max speeds at 3:00 am are around 6 MBPS. I have called many times in the last 3 years, and they fiddle and tweek. But the core problem is the "bank the check" from consumers like me, and yet the increased capacity on the tower never changes. They do not deliver what i paid for literally for years. I did not switch because there were no other options - they had a monopoly.  However now there are, and i switched to get what i paid for. I believe they are deliberatly practising business model of fraud against consumers.
