On November 7th, 2001, after receiving multiple email spams from Skyboxco.com, I ordered their FREE 2 receiver system with free installation. A shipping fee of $39.99 would be charged to my credit card. If after 15 days of receiving the equipment I did not hook up I would be charged a $189.00 penalty. By mid December I still had not received anything from SKYBOXCO. I tried their customer service number (try it if ya like to get nowhere!) at 1-678-417-6301 and got no one, no return calls and a "mailbox full" recording at least 10 times. I had my Credit Card try and pull the $39.99 charge off of my card. On January 11th 2002, soon after I tried to have the $39.99 charge revoked and over two months later, a charge of $189.00 appeared on my card. I tried again to contact SKYBOXTV, but failed. Today I contacted them at their toll free number of 1-888-268-9729. They claim that the offer stated that the $39.99 was an ACTIVATION FEE and that 15 days after I ordered from them I would be charged the $189.00 if I did not activate. The web page states this, but the email I received stated that it was a shipping fee. I still have received nothing.
This company has obviously got a good racket going. They send an E-mail, hook you then refer you to their web page, which is different, when you dispute the offer.
