1) Took our 1950 Ford F1 pickup that has a 1979 Ford F150 4X4 frame and drive train under it for a standard-to-automatic transmission conversion. The owner, Ronnie, stated that it would not be a problem to do this.

After the swap was complete and we took the truck home, we discovered a major transmission leak the next day (big puddle of trans fluid under truck). After 3 trips back to have them fix the leak and hundreds of dollars later and the trans was still leaking, I asked Ronnie who I could take the truck to since it appeared that they could not fix it. Ronnie declined to recommend anyone.

Took the truck to AAMCO and they fixed it on the first try.

2) On the second trip back to Skyline, when we went to pick up the truck, it would not start. I don't know if it was by convenience or coincidence Ronnie was still there. He messed around in the engine compartment, stating that the truck had just been parked there about an hour ago. He went back in his shop and got a tester and hooked it up to the "brain" (not much of one since it was vintage 1979) and stated that it was bad but he had a used one that he could put on. More $$$. Again was this just a coincidence?

Ronnie never once offered to check and fix the leak at no charge. The trans was not leaking when I bought it at the salvage yard and I requested that he have it checked out before he installed it. I guess that did not happen either.
