I parked across the street from a local Popscicle business in Downtown St. Petersburg (central ave & 6th st). I was parked in the spot for maybe 5 minutes. I was getting a treat for my Daughters 15 Birthday and my 2 other children. As we came out of the business with popscicles in hand heading to the car , we saw Skyway Towing pull into the lot. I ran across the street before my car was fully hooked up and tried to plead my case. By then my car was hooked up and he claimed he needed to move out of the lot to clear space even though there was 40-50 empty spots in the lot. The driver Chester said since the car was hooked up its $100 for him to release.

I pleaded my case only in the lot for 5 mins or less and came out before the car was hooked up and moved an inch. He had no sympathy and moved the car from the lot probably to collect the $100 for removing the car. Once we got into the car after paying the $100 we noticed my daughters purse was missing from the back seat. Being that it was her Birthday she had plenty of Bday cash and gift cards in her purse. I hate to point blame but know for fact her purse was in the vehicle as I told her to leave it in the car because we were going to be less the 10 mins. I know they can pop a lock in the matter of minutes. Just saying. We seriously walked in the store ordered paid and walked out. I believe they hide and ambush the moment they see you park. I tried to pay with my credit card but they said cash only.

With the huge sympathy card you are trying to play brining in your Daughter's 15th birthday I am shocked you aren't in some Poker Tournament.  Oh..you aren't saying that you are trying to throw down a sympathy card?  Okay..so why bring it up?....Exactly.

No, the fact is that you parked in a spot you weren't supposed to figuring that since you were only there for "5 minutes" and there were plenty of open spaces it would be okay.  First do you really think you were there for 5 minutes "or less"?  As by your own admission you had to walk across the street, get in line at this shop, order, pay and receive it, and start back to your car..with 2 kids.

But that not withstanding.  Just how long do you think you should be allowed to park where ever you want?  5 Minutes, 10 Minutes?  If there were plenty of open spaces should you have been allowed to park there for an hour?  What about 2 hours?  What if you left it overnight?  Or is it just a case you should have been allowed to park there exactly as long as you did.

Oh and as for you "just sayin" about accusing someone of theft..you of course contact the police and filed a report on the theft..right?  I mean you didn't just decide to come to the Internet and post on a Public site accusing someone of a crime with no proof or even going to the police...did you?  Because if that is really what you did you could be opening yourself up to some serious legal trouble.
