My wife was struggling to make ends meat then we heard of the Obama plan to help people lower their mortgage payments.  We researched it throughly and found a few firms doing the plan.  The only one I could get any report on from D&B or any other type of reporting agency including the Florida State Attorney General was Slade Law Group.  All reports were in line so we contacted them.  We were assigned a person named William Allen and sent a contract.  We did all that was ask including sending in a, 1 month mortgage payment amount, and the ball was rolling.  We were ask for this paperwork, that paperwork, got calls and all seemed to be going well then all of a sudden "NOTHING".

As a regional manager I feel communication it ##### ONE.  PERIOD.  So I started to call Mr. Allen myself.  After a week of trying by, phone, email, FAX, carrier pigeon etc.  I finally got him on the phone.  At this point I was boiling and my words were less than kind.  I ripped him over the coals and, I must say, Mr. Allen was very professional and assured me he would start doing a better job of communicating.  It was at this time I also had found out he left Slade Law Group and was on his own.  He assured me we were far better off because of some fradulant things Slade was doing.  So for about 3 months things were progressing and the Mortgage was starting to request some fine tuning of paperwork and my wife and I felt confident.

NOW, "THE REST OF THE STORY".  Last week my wife sees a $500 deduction from her checking to D&A Finincial and she had not authorized it.  Well guess what hit the fan.  She contacted Mr. Allen and he said it had to be a mistake and would check with the accountant.  She is still waiting to hear back from Mr. Allen and we have tried many ways to get a response out of him to no avail.

So my conclusion is that Mr. Allen is less than ethical.  I thought he might be legit until the money came out of my wife's account, however, I now, seriously doubt we will ever see anything.

The only good thing about this is that we do know that some kind of paperwork has been filed with the Mortgage company and we have communicated with them so we feel the Mortgage reduction will still go through.

NOW.  Does anyone want to get a lawyer to start a class action suit against Slade Law Group, Mr. William Allen and any other parties that may be involved?

I plan on filing a police report of the theft of the $500 that was never mentioned in the original contract.  The original contract was very specific on payments and there was only to be the initial 1 month mortgage amount as a contract fee.

My advice to anyone is to find a local firm to do this type of work and don't rely on the net.
