On Sept 10, 2008 my husband and I went to purchase a mattress, because I have been having back pain for the last year. As soon as we entered the Sleepy's store we were greeted by the floor saleman Mark. I explained to Mark why we were there and how I had bad back pains. He showed us several mattress's and finally showed us the "BEST", the Tempurpedic.

We tried it and felt it might work for us both, he actually persuaded us to get the electric massager that goes with the mattress. As he was telling us how fabulous the bed was, I asked him as we sat face to face, "Mark what is the return policy, just in case this bed does not work for me" The ONLY words Mark uttered were you would have to pay a $250 exchange charge and you have 21 days to decide. He ran and got our credit upgraded so we can finance the bed and away we went.

Eight days passed and my back still hurt, so of course we went back to the store and explained this to Mark. Now all of a sudden we can only exchange the mattress not the base because it's electric. Had we have known that we would not be able to exchange both we would not have purchased that bed. Mark only wanted to make his commissin and get us out the store , he's a blantant scam artist.

Now we are not getting any help from anyone. My husband spoke to one of the District Managers (Chris Plunkett), and he informed us that Sleepy's has already been paid so we don't have a choice as to what happens. He gave us the names of the Regional Mananger (Bill Grumman), and the Regional VP (Dan Thickpen), however he would not give us an address or a phone number.

The only thing we could do is call GE the company we got the finance from and inform them we wuld be contesting the purchase. All we want is to exchange the mattress and the base like we were told by Mark.

This is not the first complaint I have seen against Sleepy's recently. I feel that something is going terribly wrong with this company and its customer service. Anyone shopping with this company should be very careful and get everything in writing.
