I purchased a Springair Mattress set from Rockaway Bedding in July, 2003. This was an $1800 set, with a 10 year warranty. Last year, Sleepy's purchased many Rockaway Bedding store fronts as Rockaway Bedding went out of business. With this purchase, Sleepy's promised to honor warranties for mattresses purchased through Rockaway Bedding.

I made a claim against this warranty approximately 2 months ago. The mattress is sagging and has a large hump in the middle. It took 6 weeks and 3 phone calls to finally get an inspector to look at the mattress. Each time I called, the Sleepy's representative was not very helpful. As a matter of fact, she was rather annoyed that I had the nerve to question the length of time it was taking to have my claim considered. Imagine that!

The inspector did his job. He took pictures, recorded the necessary information about the mattress, and reported this information to Sleepy's. He left indicating to me that it will take 2 weeks to get a response from Sleepy's. To my surprise, only 2 days went by when I received a call from a Sleepy's representative who gleefully told me my claim is denyed. Again, imagine that!! She further told me that if I disagreed with the findings, it would cost me $50 but that it wouldn't do me any good.

I tried to contact Springair, the manufacturer however, they have not acknowledged my contact. No surprise there either.

So, folks, beware of these two companies. I have already told my friends and family about this. Please, please don't put yourself in the same position. Avoid Sleepy's Mattress Stores and the Springair products. Springair does not stand behind it's product and Sleepy's does not have any intention of being your (the consumer) advocate with the manufacturers.
