I bought a bed (Box spring, Mattress, and frame) from Sleepy's on March 16, 2000.

The Kingsdown mattress has a 15 year Warrantee. When we lie on it, it droops in the center, causing us to roll into the middle of the bed. I have made several attempts to contact sleepy's about it, speaking to supervisors, etc since October. They kept saying someone will call you back. I had 3 appointments for their bed check service to inspect it, and they didn't show.

Finally, somebody came 2 weeks ago, threw a piece of string across the bed and box spring, took a couple of photos, and left. A week later we got a phone call saying the bed meets the standard and they will not exchange it. The inspector never pressed on the mattress or addressed the specific complaint. I feel that this is a scam that they do, and do not cover any warrantees. The only reason they send someone out because I have made about 50 phone calls since October.

When I called about the mattress meeting the standard - they said the inspectors work for Kingsdown. I called Kingsdown and they told me my problem is with Sleepy's and they can not do anything for me.

My wife and I are waking up with aches and pains every morning because of this mattress.

Sleepy's contacted me regarding my complaint to this web site. They said they wanted to resolve the issue and offered another bed for another $525.

I do not feel that this is right. I have a 15-year non-prorated warentee that was the selling point of the mattress. Anyone who has been to a Sleepy's can tell you how they brag about the warentee.

The matress should be replaced. It is defective. If that model is no longer made, then a compairable one should be sent in it's place. I was told that it is no longer available and there is no replacement mattress for it. This is just Sleepy's way of not honoring the warentee.

Backing up your warrentee should not require the customer to fork over almost as much as the initial price for it.
