 I tried the seven day free trial with sling tv and actually intended to move my service to them when my DIRECTV contract expired in a couple of month. As others have said, you are required to give them your credit card info to get the free trial. However, I was a few hours late in cancelling my service and was charged 42.78 for a month of service. Since I missed the deadline by a few hours, I called their customer service to inform them that I did not want a month of service at this time, and that they could charge me for an xtra day since I was a little late, but not the whole month. They flat out refused to refund my money and told me that since this was a pay in advance service, no refund was possible. But, they did cancel my service but kept the money they drafted for the entire month. So, I paid 42.78 for my TRIAL period of 7 days and 3 hours of paid service. How many times do they get away with this? Something needs to be done. I really think this might be unlawful and would appreciate any comments from anyone with expertise in this area.
