I inquired at the Slomin's kiosk in Roosevelt Field Long Island NY a home heating oil contract. The salesman told me if I fill in the information on the computer I would be setting up an account but that I could go on line and cancel within three days. The following day I read the particulars of the contract and decided to cancel. I could not cancel the contract on line. It had to be physically delivered  to their office in Hicksville. I had two options pay for a messenger or drive there myself. I drove all the way to Hicksville and delivered it myself within the three days. That was on a Friday, that Monday while I was at work Slomin's delivered (topped off my 550 gallon oil tank)54 gallons of oil to my home. The salesman at the kiosk also told me a representative would call for further information and to come an inspect my oil burner. I have refused to pay for the Oil. Customer service told me I have to pay for the oil since I now have it and will have to use it. He also said when a person signs a contract they assume the customer needs the delivery immediatly. Nobody from Slomin's ever called me for any further information.

I should not have to pay for oil I did not need or want due to Slomin's inefficiency in following through to their oil delivery department. I was not under contract to do business with Slomin's. These practices will continue to prey on consumers like me, if they continue to receive payment or cause a derogatory credit outcome.
