Since 2010, numerous accounts have surfaced detailing the exploits of Dipika Patel and Dharmesh Patel, Americans preying on vulnerable Indians, enticing them to work in the US, only to destroy their lives. To summarize those posts, fraudsters Dipika Patel and Dharmesh Patel are career criminals—They lure unsuspecting individuals into working for them under false pretenses (usually foreign students who are fresh graduates). They make the candidates sign a contract that basically makes them modern day slaves. They are not allowed to leave until they have earned $500,000 for Dipika Patel and Dharmesh Patel, who are basically P!MPS.

She used this to con employers in New York and New Jersey into hiring her as a software engineer. She continued this scam for a decade, until 2012, when employers blacklisted her. Dipika Patel and Dharmesh Patel steal from public funds intended for vulnerable and marginalized people. Dipika Patel even has state-subsidized lunches for her children and collects assistance from the state by falsely claiming poverty.
