On Black Friday of 2015 we bought a Hooverboard from Smart Drifterz in Dadeland Mall. It was a Christmas present for our son . We paid much more than the going price of this item. We were told that our board was from local manufacturers and that in part would eliminate poor quality and if we had issues they could be resolved quickly because we didn't have to worry about shipping to China . An extended warranty was given in addition to the limited warranty that came with the product . This product also has markings on it as if it was certified by several safety commissions . Well as luck would have it we had to invoke our right to use the extended warranty . And this is when all hell broke lose. It was on 1/1/2016 and it still hasn't been resolved . The owner is very much aware and has been in on the chase to resolve this claim. She has offered refurbish boards that don't even meet the minimum criteria like the board we purchased it had blue tooth , and was supposedly new minus the cosmetic scratches put on it by my son on Christmas . It doesn't have rubber bumpers so the paint comes off easily . Ours supposedly had a Samsung battery , we don't know the quality of the refurbish boards . All our lights worked . Refurbish board not so much . When I asked to be made whole she offered a second refurbished board that we accepted only to find out it didn't have Bluetooth like the one we paid for (paid extra for that feature ). Now Hooverboards are being recalled everywhere . My dealer has yet to resolve this issue . Also it seems that our board was not manufactured in the USA like expressed in the sales pitch . They give you the board out of box and in the carrying bag with a generic manual . There's no way to determine where the board originated from . After speaking with them several times and after being quoted a repair fee amount of $189, we were told it was not repairable because they couldn't get a new mother board . This company won't survive much longer and I think all of this is to hope we will get frustrated and just walk away .
