Smartcertify Direct fraudulent advertizing, Use a demo that is a CBT and course is not. It is just a stack of books with incorrect tests. Clearwater Florida

I tried the demo Computer Based Training Course on the Internet and liked it. It was a demo on the Solaris Operating System.

The course I ordered was supposed to be similar on the Linux Operating System. The course I received was nothing like the demo. There was no computer based training included like the demo. It totaly sucked.
I received a stack of books and a CD with "Testing Software" on it. The test questions were incorrect.

When I called I received no responce to my complaint. I emailed customer service and when I did finally get a responce I did not receive the corrected software or answers.

What I did receive was a condesending letter in which Jennifer S. Harford Senior Customer Service Representitive informed me that when Microsoft first released Microsoft Windows ME it had 60,000 known bugs in it. THIS IS SUPPOSED TO SATISFY ME!!! Telling me that they use MICROSOFT as a standard for quality control! On a Unix based product no less.

I am a Unix systems Administrator for Jefferson County Public Schools of Colorado the largest K-12 School district in the State of Colorado.

I will make it well known to anyone who will listen my very disapointing experiece with SmartCertify Direct. I am also a member of USENIX and the Colorado System Administrators Guild and will use any influence I have in these organizations to discourage anyone from being defrauded by SmartCertify Direct.

The product being advertised on the internet is not what you will receive and you will get nothing but a condesending letter when you try to get a remedy to your
situation.

I Used and Like Their Courses

I use and have used SmartCertify's courses to get certified. I like the mentoring that comes with them. I read the upsets some people have on this site but I was treated fairly. I was not forced to buy in fact I was sent via an email a sheet that layed out all the terms and warranties in writing for me to sign. No one can say they didn't know what they were agreeing to.

I also was able to work out payments which other companies I called would not do.

Ok so i guess i got taken for the whole farm!!! I signed with smart certify to get A+ Netowrk+ Server+ security+ and Windows 2000 security, all for 1300 dollars. Now after just about completing the hardware part of the a+ course, i can tell this is a rip off. I called them and tried to get my money back they said only if i fail the tests twice. I also dont get their garuntee they have 120 day certifcation garuntee.... This would mean i would have to take and pass all 5 of those certs within 4 months..... does this not seem the least bit difficult to anyone else???? well please help i contacted my bank and asked to dispute the charges on the grounds that the services offered were not services rendered. I have made the first 130 dollar payment and they want to tell mei still have to pay the remaining thousand or whatever, even though i will not use this again!! please respond i need help!!!!

I did receive my certifications, but I did it without SmartCertify.Your CBT's are poor at best. Now that I am employed in the IT field, I know what a joke SmartCertify is, its kind of like admitting you use AOL. What goes around, comes around.

The BBB is not a business.

They just register complaints and try to resolve them. Being a member of the BBB is not a phenominal thing. Take a look at some products around your house that you really enjoy, and then go look them up on the BBB. Look up Disney and look at the thousands of complaints they have. Look at Pepsi, or Coca Cola, or Taco Bell, or Mc Donalds, etc, etc. SkillSoft has on unanswered complaint in 3 years. Have you given thought to your situation? There is a money back guarantee. Not everyone is cut out for the IT field, and there is no such thing as a miracle cure. You either have it or you don't. I think that you just didn't have the aptitude to do training in the first place. I don't know you, but, I am just going to take that as the reason for your failure.

If SmartCertify is so great, why do they have an unsatisfactory report with the BBB? Why do all the newsgroup posts tell people to not get scammed by Smartcertify and to stay away? Why do I still get emails 18 months after I was scammed from people telling me about their bad experience. SmartCertify is a fraudulent company and someday will be exposed for what they really are...

Just to set the record straight. The Linux LPI certification course was a product that we sold for the Linux Profression Institute.

Greg tried a demo of Solaris and then purchased the Linux LPI certification course. Just to set the record straight. The Linux LPI certification course was a product that we sold for the Linux Profression Institute. The LPI actually wrote and developed the course, and we used our medium to sell it to them.

My questions is, if the Linux Professional Institute is the ones that wrote and created the course, how can they get the answers wrong? If Greg is such a genius with Linux, why did he need the course. The LPI was done through a different median as he described. They were done through a different method as the Smart Certify courses. It used books, with CD roms.

The demos in which you see on the website, are actual sections of a course taken out and placed on the website in Java form.

The courses speak for themselves. There is a guarantee on certification that is very simple. If a student fails any exam on two attempts within 90 days, with five days inbetween the two exams, and then faxes the copy of the test results verifying that they did fail, a refund will be issued for the price of the course.

The United States Armed Forces, Microsof,Cisco, Avaya, TRW Systems, Delloite Consulting, RR Donnely, Reynolds and Reynolds, Lockheed Martin, Nothrup Grumman IT services and thousands of other companies use our training. And these are all highly respected and well versed companies in the industry who have researched many different methods of training, and have settled on our training. That speaks volumes and contents about the quality and content of this training method and it's over all effectiveness not only to pass the exams, but, also provide a working knowlege to use in real life in the day to day job.
