In June I purchased a book off Amazon.com. I received the book from hotbooksales.com. I was not aware that I was going to become a member of smartsavingscenter.com. In Dec. I received an e-mail stating that I would be billed $29.95 a month on my cc beginning in Jan. 2009. I immediately went into my CC account and saw that I have been being charged since June 2008 for $9.99 a month up until Sept. when the charge went to $14.95.

I e-mailed my CC company and refuted the charge and they credited my Dec. account. I called my CC company 12-30-2008 and told them of the problem. They had me call the SmartsavingsCenter and try to get them to give me credit. They would not saying I had signed up for the membership in June. I told them I did not.

I called the CC company back and they are going to credit my account from Sept - Nov. and now I have to write the CC company to get the rest of the charges taken off my account. I do not think I will be buying any more items from Amazon.com. What a scam!
