I can see I'm not the only one to be cheated by this company. I had been trying for 4 months to cancel my coffee shipments by e-mail and telephone calls. On the phone I would be put on hold indefinately, or the phone was answered by someone with poor English skills (not to criticize people of other languages, but a company should have someone on hand who can speak English if dealing with English speaking companies).

I called again today after seeing yet another charge and was rudely told that this was the first time I had called. The woman on the phone blatently lied. From the minute I said hello she was rude and argumentative which indicates she knows darn well her company is dishonest. So what if I'm angry. They already have about $100.00 of my money which they know would be too much trouble for me to try to get back. There will always be another sucker around the corner.

I agree with the consumer who suggested this reflects something about our society in general. Laws will protect companies and encourage them to operate dishonestly because consumers have no real clout.

I am now hesitant to order anything by the web. This is too bad because there are some fine companies out there trying to do an honest business. Smiles coffee is not one of them. They lied to me and stole my money and they operate this way intentionally.
