The rebate offer I submitted for purchasing a M&P handgun included $50 cash and (2) extra gun magazines. My request was submitted March 2008. The $50 was received in mid May with no explanation of the (2) magazines.

Upon receiving the $50 rebate, I contacted S&W (mid May) and received a response from Kate Fredette stating the magazines are on backorder and it would be 3-4 more weeks. I was also given a order number that must mean something on their end.

In early July, I responded to Ms. Fredette orignal e-mail inquiring to the status of the magazines and I was told that they did recieve some magazines, but they were sent out on priority orders and were now out of stock again. I was asked to wait another 3-4 weeks.

The rebate offer I submitted clearly stated two things. $50 cash & (2) magazines. It is my interpretation that Smith & Wesson or their rebate center cannot keep up with the demand. This does not give me much confidence in their promotional offers and I doubt if I wll purchase another Smith & Wesson product.

I noticed that the location of this complaint was Springfield Missouri. That is incorrect. The address for Smith & Wesson is:

Smith & Wesson
2100 Roosevelt Avenue
Springfield, MA 01104

This was taken from their Website, http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CustomContentDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10001&catalogId=10001&content=12010&sectionId=10504 .

MA is the postal abbreviation for Massachusetts, not Missouri.

One thing that was not mentioned was an estimated turn-around time. When I submitted a rebate in November 2009 for five (5) mags for an M&P 15, documentation indicated it would take roughly 8-10 weeks. I am still waiting, but being patient about it.

Have a Good Day! :o)

Badbry I bought a s&w 40 cal with the same rebate and that was on 11/16/07 I received my $50 rebate on 04/10/08 and the (2) Mags came on 06/05/08 But In the mean time I was like you I called s&w several times and told they would be here In a few weeks for which as you see It took several months but I think you don't have to worry because they will come.I know for a fact that yes s&w overwhelmed with the promotion. But they will come s&w Is a great company with great products...
