Buying a membership at Snap Fitness gym in San Jose is a big mistake and here is my story why.

I purchased this membership because I travel often. I paid for a two year in advance membership, which should give me 24/7 access to workout. If you are not traveling there are much better options in San Jose for gyms that give you a much better selection of equipment that can lead to a more productive workout.

Since I signed up I have had multiple problems. The next week I flew into Utah and my membership did not work. It took them three days to solve the problem and the gym was rarely staffed even during the posted hours. So for three out of my five days in Utah I had no gym access. Back to Snap Fitness San Jose.

I arrived back in San Jose on November the 10th and my luggage was lost. Inside my luggage was my access card. I called Snap Fitness and was told that if you lost your card you had to pay a fee and a new one would be immediately issued.

So I go out of my way to get to the gym during the staffed hours to get a new card. They could not find me in the system and he had to push it to a manager. So the next day I come in and get the same story. Finally on the third day they found me in the system but did not have the admin rights to issue me a new card. I was told sorry nothing we can do. So I was basically told that I could no longer work out there or have an access card even though they could see me in the system. Again they said they needed to have a manager look at it.

Today is November 18th and was going to be the last day I would put up with this. There was a new person inside. I explained my issue again, and was told he would take a look. 15 mins later comes over and lets me know I am not in the system and he cannot issue me a card. I asked for the managers number or to speak with him and was told sorry, I cant do that. In fact this guy could do nothing.

They finally offered to give me this guys access card however I had to pay him $20 in cash. Now I dont carry cash and I have made seven trips out of my way to get this access card. No way was I driving to find a Bank of America to pull out $20. I should not even be asked to pay for the card at this point. I offered to let them hold my American Express Black Card as IOU collateral so I could workout over the weekend. He smiled and said no way in a very cocky manner.

In my lifetime I have never had worse service. No one seems to care. No one seems to know anything or is willing to do anything to make you happy. I spent $250 on this membership and cannot workout at Snap Fitness San Jose. Im leaving next Tuesday and have yet to be able to get a regular workout in. Instead I have been pay $10 a workout at 24 Hour Fitness a few miles down the road.

To anyone reading this. Take my advice and avoid Snap Fitness San Jose like the plague. Drive a couple more miles down the road to a 24 Hour Fitness, which has a much better facility with any time access.

I am not the only person with complaints like this. There is a site dedicated to unhappy Snap Fitness members.

Do no sign up for a membership at Snap Fitness Gym in San Jose.
