Complaint Review: Snelling Temporary Services

I was between jobs a few years ago and decided to try my luck with an employment service even though I had never used one before. The closest one in my area was Snelling Employment Services across the Mississippi River in Illinois and so I called and made an appointment to talk with them. I came dressed very professionally and had my resume, pen, reference information, all the information I knew they could possibly want. I met with a very nice gentleman who after looking over my resume, asking me a few questions to obtain additional information, and discussing what I was looking for in employment opportunities seemed very pleased with my qualifications and job skills.

He put the information into the computer and informed me that while they had no positions available at that time with my skills and education level, I have a BS degree, I should have an offer from them in a few weeks. Well, I checked in and gave them a report on my employment status faithfully each week as I was instructed to do and each time I was told they had nothing. After reporting in for a few months, I finally asked why I had been told that they should have something for me in a few weeks and then each time be told they had nothing. I was given a song and dance about how I needed to be patient and continue as I was and something would come up.

Well, I did this for almost two years, finally I got fed up and quit calling. I figured what was the use. I will never use Snelling again and will think twice before using any other employment/staffing service.
