I ordered Snuggies in January 09 via calling this number, 888-793-3379. It was an automated service. After the order was placed, they continually asked if I wanted to order other items or services. I said no each time and finally got the order placed.

I got my snuggies, the shipping was a total rip off, but it was in the fine print.

Today I get a call from Avalon Marketing, 231-732-2641 thanking me for my VISA business. I told him my Visa is through my bank, he had the last four digits of my VISA Debit card and my private phone number. He wanted to send me free gift cards, etc... as a thank you. He kept saying I was under no obligation, but I said I didn't want anything. He insisted he didn't have my entire VISA number. I said no thanks and hung up.

I called my bank and they suggested I cancel the debit card and get another one, which I did. After spending many hours researching I have found others that got the same call after ordering Snuggies. I called Snuggies at 800-566-2888 and didn't get anywhere. She confirmed I placed the order with them, but said they don't sell their info. She kept insisting at some point I said yes during the order process, even if it was no in direct response to the automated question.

What can be done to stop this type of stuff? I have spent 3-4 hours trying to figure out where they got my info and then calling, etc.... when I should be working and making money. Plus, I have to go through getting my debit card replaced, etc..... I have a real problem when my privacy has been breached by what is supposed to be a reputable company.
