What a pain in the you-know-what! Do not purchase a sock subscription from this company! I placed two orders, (order numbers 137628750 & 137634628) as Christmas gifts. The 1st gift subscription was $135 + $25.80 shipping + $9.65 sales tax for a total of $170.45 which went fine.

Then when I attempted to purchase a 2nd gift subscription for the identical order…I noticed the screen had doubled the cost. Before finalizing the purchase I called Scott the owner who assured me that the operating software would auto-correct itself, not to worry, go ahead and place the order and if there was a duplication he would personally correct it immediately. So I completed the checkout process and the 2nd order totaled $340.90 (two $170.45 subscription, $51.60 shipping and $19.30 sales tax) exactly double the correct cost.

Later I checked my charge card activity and saw Sockscribeme has debited a total of $511.45 prompting me to email the company to point out their error. I received a message advising me that my second order had been cancelled. I emailed them again advising them to cancel the redundant charge. I was ordering gifts for my father-in-law and mother-in-law…why would I purchase two subscriptions for the same person? Credit me $170.45!

So then I again called and left a message for Scott who later returned my call. I explained that I was due a credit of $170.45 which he didn’t seem to understand. This is when I began to question the company…it’s not brain surgery…it’s simple math. We had spoken earlier that day.

Eventually Scott issued a $170.45 credit but failed to credit the redundant $25.80 for shipping and $9.65 for sales tax. Now I realize $35.45 isn’t a lot of money but c’mon! Do what you say you’re gonna do and don’t rip customers off. Why should I have to go and file a chargeback request just to buy your socks at the stated retail price?!!

Whether this is the result of stupidity or an intentional effort to defraud me doesn’t really matter anymore…Sockscribeme has wasted a great deal of my time, is responsible for this entire mess and has failed to act in a responsible manner. Shop elsewhere and know they also own Sockbox.com. Now that I have (hopefully) prevented others from experiencing the grief and expense associated with Sockscribeme’s faulty website and dismal customer service…I will go to the bank with copies of my emails and screen shots of their website to support a chargeback request. I truly regret shopping here!
