I ordered a Free Trial Kit from this company. I was supposed to be charged only $9.99 for the S&H and after the 14-day trial period, a one-time-fee of $40.00, if I chose to continue.
Well, my credit card got charged the full $49.00 immediately!
I contacted the company, and this is the explanation they gave me via e-mail:
"the system instead to give you the special paid $9.99 shipping and after 14 days pay $79.00 took the better deal available only for 3 days which is paid $9.00 shipping and get the started kit discounted price for $40.00 tax free total charged $49.00"
However, nowhere on their website was this "system choosing capability" stated. Furthermore, the consumer should have the option to let the system "choose the best offer" or not after being fully informed that their credit card will be charged full price and not just the S&H.
Moreover, after my payment went through online, the page reloaded only reflecting the $9.99 not the $49.00 they had actually charged me! I found out when they sent me a paid invoice receipt via e-mail.
I have already notified the company that unless they fix their system and clearly state on their website that their system will "choose the best offer" and charge more than just the $9.99 for S&H ( they are acting illegally and fraudulently. I told them I will notify consumers via the Internet and authorities.
