Solar Energy Initiatives sold our company the vision that we would become solar installers and be supported by experienced individuals who had been installing solar for years. As we came on board with them we found out that their entire installation division had been sold and we were left supported by individuals who had never installed a PV system in their life.
Essentially ,SEI is a distributor of solar products. They buy from other distributors mostly so their pricing margins are horrible as well as basic knowledge of solar components they are pushing. There is only one individual who is very capable of talking the talk and walking the walk. The rest of them are sales people that dont know their *** from their elbow.
For 20,000 dollars we have the pleasure of screwed up orders, no call backs from customer service, horrible pricing and no technical support. This was nothing but broken promises and our conversations with about 1 dozen SEI dealers reflect the behavior above
Dont waste your time with this company and look to local solar education as the first step in starting your new business. There are plenty of less costly alternatives to solar education and procurement then an operation like this.
