I stumbled on this website by accident and I was surprised at the number of complaints against the same company that I'm having problems with. I'm all too sorry to say that my story is so similar to all the others.

I hired A Solid Gold Sound to videotape my wedding in November 2004. In the weeks prior to my wedding I received numerous calls from the company and I assumed that everything was fine. The last time I spoke with a representative was three weeks prior to my wedding to iron out all the details. It was at that time that I was told that I would receive a call from my actual videographer by Wednesday before my wedding.

I was told that if I didn't hear from him to call the office. I never heard from him so I began calling frantically on Thursday and Friday. I placed several calls to all of the numbers that I had been given which went unanswered even on the "emergency hotline." Finally, on Friday I received a voice mail from my videographer and he said everything was ready to go and not to worry.

At the wedding, I noticed that there was only one videographer instead of the two that were supposed to come with the package, which we agreed to pay for dinners for at the reception. The videographer didn't introduce himself to anyone at the ceremony or reception.

After we returned from the honeymoon I called John to let him know that we were really unhappy with the services provided. I never heard from him. Finally, after calling several other times I got ahold of him. He told me that he would comp. me some extra dvd's and I would get my video in about 4-6 weeks.

Time came and went, I even gave them an extra week to give them the benefit of the doubt and no video ever came. My husband, father and I all called and our calls were never answered. Finally, my father got ahold of him and he "promised" that we would have our video in our hands by Feb. 23rd as well as some other free services, etc., which again has come and gone.

Now, our calls are not answered at all and nobody will call us back. At the time my father called John, my father asked John if he had a lawyer and John said yes. My father asked for him lawyers name and John wanted to know why and my father told him that he would like to have our lawyer call his lawyer and John wouldn't tell him the name of his lawyer or his last name. Thanks to someone on this website I now know that his name is John Kruer, owner/manager of A Solid Gold Sound.

Today, my fahter called the office and talked to Rob and told him that if John didn't call him back by 3pm then he was headed to the court to file suit. After that, my father drove to the address where we had to send the money and it's a p.o. box at The UPS Store. I did a reverse lookup on the phone number that was given to me which is registered to Kruer International Success Seminars in Columbia and Towson, MD, of course no address is provided.

This company has done whatever they could to cover their tracks. Sadly, even if we do find them and take them to court...we probably will never see our wedding video!

If anyone is interested in filing a class action lawsuit, please contact me by using the rebuttal box below. This company must be stopped!!

attorney and victim

Hi, I am an attorney who was also victimized by this company. So far it has been four months since my wedding, and we still have not received our video. Plus, the dj we bought showed up to the reception intoxicated and unable to perform most of his duties.

I'd like to file a class action against this company, but I need to know if they're a complete scam or if they're just really really really slow. Did you ever receive your wedding video? Are you in contact with anyone else who has been scammed by this company?

Please send your responses to (((ROR REDACTED)))

I would love for you to look into A Solid Gold Sound wedding videographer and dj service. They have several locations across the US, all which seem to be equally as shady as the one in Atlanta.

We contacted ASGS because we saw them advertised on theknot.com wedding website and we wanted an affordable video of our wedding day. We just wanted the basics, nothing fancy. They were very nice and helpful upfront; sending out a dvd of their services, along with a nice packet, etc. We signed up for the service and a videographer did show and supposedly filmed our wedding and reception....

I wasnt particularly happy with the professionalism of the videographer... he seemed very young (which isnt necessarily a problem), but along with the youth seemed to come unprofessionalism and several smoke breaks. AGAIN.... I wasnt thrilled with the guy, but I just basically wanted a video of the wedding and reception so we could see the parts we missed, etc so I didn't get upset about him. THEN after waiting the mandatory 8-10 weeks after the wedding to receive my wedding video.... and not receiving anything... we called and called and e-mailed and received no response. My husband kept calling and calling until he finally got to talk to "ROB" who is supposed to be in charge of wedding videos that have already been done.... Rob said he would look into and get back to us... he never did...

We continued to investigate and found out more and more shadiness with this company.... their addresses correlate to ups stores, they try very hard to keep from giving out any "real" contact info... we were given a false last name for who we think is the owner, along with a incorrect mailing address for him. We think the owner is John Kruer, who is in the Cincinnati/ Northern Ketucky area.

After looking into this we get more and more discouraged, there is negative info all over the place on how this company has scammed brides and grooms. They have stolen our wedding memories and our money and we don't want it to happen to anyone else. The wedding business is a big money maker for alot of people.... the prices are marked up for just about everything concerning a wedding... which is bad enough when you actually receive the service, but when you get absolutely nothing for the money you spend .... its deplorable.... and these people should be stopped!

I'm in the middle of going through all of the same issues as everyone else w/ this company. No need to even get into it but luckily my fiance and I still have time to get another videographer. I don't know how we missed all the terrible posting about them. We would love to get in on a suit or just track this John down and have a field day w/ his face.

I would DARE John to reply to any of this; not sure how he sleeps at night but I'd like to make it more uncomfortable.
