Complaint Review: Solina

I went to SoLina Auction in Darlington, SC on May 19th to inquire about selling there the following week. My family and I planned on moving from our home in SC to FL so we had a house of items to sell. I registered in the office and inquired about what to do for the following week on bringing my items. I was told to arrive early the following Monday the spaces were available by a first come first serve basis.

The sale starts at 10 Am and to try to be there around 7 to get a good spot. My husband, my 7 year old son and myself arrived there at 6:45 AM on May 26th. We spoke with (Charles?) a black guy in the field. He put us on the last row with the front row back having plenty of spaces open. We asked about the first come first serve- he said there is no such thing. All of the other rows are saved for the sellers that have high dollar items since we only had a trailer and vehicle load we didnt have enough to go up there.

It was hot as crap that day and I had a baby sitter at home with my infant. I was told the week prior that if I arrived early and got on the first rows we would be out by lunch. We had a birthday party planned for that evening an hour away at 7 and a going away party since we were leaving on the upcoming weekend. Needless to say all the first rows items sold for big money- the auctioneers took their time in auctioning the items and by the time they got to my stuff 6:45 PM (12hrs later) they were wore out as so was I.

They sold my entire lot of items for $50 leaving me $39 they were going to mail me the check since I couldnt wait for it since we had to leave to pick up my child that I was almost 8 hrs late picking up and to get to the party. Well they called me on Tuesday and said if I didnt come clean my spot they were not going to mail me my check. My spot was not left dirty. This place is a rip off.

I have no money for all of my items (2300 SF home). If you know these people you may can make money but if you dont they could care less who you are and you will be treated as such. This place I would never recommend to anyone. I would rather give my stuff to the needy which is what I should have done. They are over rated and must need money BAD. Sellers stay away from this place. I will be glad to speak with anyone about my experience personaly if you would like to call me. (((phone number redacted)))
