I contacted NCO a while back regarding a $1700+ debt on my husband's credit report that was over 5 years old. Evidently, the ex-wife had suprised him by ordering a solo-flex (in his name).

He put it together the following weekend, decided it was a piece of junk and contacted soloflex. Since the 30 day warranty began the date it was shipped and he recieved it on day 28, the warranty was expired and they told him he was responsible for payment.

Needless to say, they never made a payment and the account was turned over to NCO. I made arrangements to send $50 or $25 a month, but this bill was obviously not a priority when money was tight. Our rep's name was Betty, who called us repeatedly for months demanding payments and telling us to "be an adult and pay your bill". She became offensive and insulting to both of us, and we have since not answered "unknown" calls.

I'm happy to say that the NCO bill has finally dropped off my husband's credit report (7 years old I think - last time we checked, it wasn't there) and we've received no more annoying phone calls!!
