Somoto / BetterInstaller Fails to pay outstanding amount Tel Aviv Internet

We had a bundling agreement with Somoto in 2012. We provided them with notice that we would stop bundling their product with our software more than the required 90 days in advance. Their bundle was causing our software to be flagged as malware so continuing would have cost us our reputation. Either way, we were under the impression that we had provided sufficient notice in advance to part ways amicably.

 

Unfortunately Somoto did not agree, pointing to ambiguous terms in the small print and claiming we were in breach of the contract. We're now mid 2014 and still Somoto has failed to pay out the last months of revenues they owe us totaling over 100,000 USD. We have agreed to several compromises to work out a deal which might be beneficial to both parties, but none have failed to produce results due to technical issues with their product causing incompatibility with ours.

 

Since it has now been over a month that I have not even received as much as a reply by email I’ve finally decided to report their conduct so other possibly partners will hopefully not fall into the same trap. If you’re a software publisher, stay far away from Somoto! There are better solutions out there such as OpenCandy or InstallCore by IronSource which will not end up costing you several months of revenues.
