When trying to order a ring from "www.sonadiamondjewelry.com" I discovered that this "company" was not at all what it seems to be.
I ordered a ring from the website and it said it should take up to one week to make it and receive it. After two weeks I tried calling the phone number listed and got a strange voice-mail saying that they knew the customers hated playing phone tag and would call me back. I got more suspicious when the man finally called me back and said the diamond was in the final stages of cutting and it would ship out tomorrow, however previously in the conversation he told me he didn't even have the diamond yet that it was still in Israel.
I told him I wished to cancel the order because I hadn't received the product for two weeks and he kept giving me different stories and lying about what he had said. I told him I wanted to talk to his manager or owner and he said he'd rather not give me that number if I was going to bother him like I was bothering him. I told him that if he didn't refund my money I would contact a lawyer.
He called me back and gave me a phone number saying he talked to the owner and said that when I threatened to contact a lawyer he decided to talk to me.
The number I called was actually jewelry store in a mall in Atlanta. I told them the situation and the man there had no idea what I was talking about. He said that he had worked with the guy before, and he would buy things from them and resell them. However, he said that the guy hadn't placed an order with them for months. So, that was proof that it was a scam. I thought my ring was being made at a company, but really it was one guy that was buying pieces of jewelry from different companies and reselling them. He also said that the man was the owner of the company, when really the guy from the jewelry store said he had no affiliation with him.
I confronted the sona diamonds man about this and he gave me another lie to try and cover it up. He just kept avoiding everything and told me to read the company policy.He said the company policy stated that there was no refunds on custom made jewelry. I picked my ring off of the ones on the site. There was a place to design your own ring, but I did not do that. So, the policy makes it sound like as long as you don't custom design your own you can return it. Really he just tried to word everything so that he could twist it around to whatever he wanted.
After several phone calls to him, I told him I would either accept a refund or I would be contacting a lawyer. I asked him not to call me again. That same day he called me at least 7 times and left a voice mail one of the times. He claimed he did nothing wrong.
I finally had to contact my credit card company and dispute it as fraud. He tried to fight it, sending my credit card company an e-mail which contained yet more lies, my credit card representative was laughing about how absurd some of his claims were. The credit card company said they were going after him for fraud and that is what finally ended it.
I got my money refunded, but not without a lot of trouble and heartache. I just want other people to know that this "company" is really a one-man operation that is totally dishonest. Even if people do receive rings from him, it is still not what they thought they were getting. Your ring isn't being made for you, he is getting the bands from a jewelry store and who knows where the stones come from. And it makes me wonder who is assembling the ring once the different pieces are there. Is it him? If so I doubt that it is done very well. He is not professional, has horrible business skills, and is totally dishonest. I want other people to know that "www.sonadiamondjewelry.com" is not trustworthy. Don't let what happened to me happen to you, this guy is a liar and scam artist.

I had my anniversary in the month of September and my husband had ordered for a 3 stone diamond ring from sona diamond jewelry. My husband was told that the ring will be delivered within in a weeks time. Before the delivery Mr. Cleve had even called us to inform that the ring is getting ready and will reach me before the given date. From this I could see that the service offered by him is not only genuine but also is of great quality.
Just read the dispute raised against him, so just thought of sharing my views about Sona Diamond & Cleve.

We received a rude and threatening call from Jessica stating she wanted to cancel out her custom ring order one day before it was to ship..She kept saying crazy things that didn't make any sense..She admitted that there was a no-refund policy on custom diamond jewelry, but she was going to cancel anyway..
We said it was a beautiful hybrid diamond ring and she would love it..We actually extended the courtesy of taking the ring back if she didn't like it..She just blew up and said her parents were billionaires and we will be sued..Our response was we did nothing wrong and caused her no harm. The ring was finished on time by the tenth business day and would ship tomorrow..She was going to cancel anyway, before it was shipped, and ignore the no refund policy.
She went on with her threatening comments about our company..We told her Sona Diamond Jewelry was ranked #1 in the world by google in the man made diamonds category..Because we have a great number of visitors who buy from us and like our website and our products. Moreover, we have 1200 eBay testimonials and a 99% positive rating , written by each buyer and submitted into the central computer. This can't be faked..
She continued to say crazy things, like we ruined her life, and ruined her marriage, etc..All of this was recorded on our Polycom phone system and heard by the other members in the office..
We sent her a transcript of the conversation..The transcript, and recording, if necessary, with a beautiful hybrid diamond ring photo, will be sent to her credit card company to dispute her cancellation..And hopefully, get at least enough money back to cover our labor cost to build this magnificent work of art..
This is the real truth..
