Complaint Review: Sony Corporation Electronics

I have been in contact with several customers over the last few months about TVs they bought for over $1,000.00 only to have them go out after 1-4 years.. The primary cause is the power boards. The unit stops working and shows six blinking lights. Troubleshooting usually points to the power board.

If the unit is under warranty, (standard is one year), they replace it right away but, the breakdown usually happens soon after the warranty period expires. They have fixed some units out of warranty but refuse to help the others.

Consumers like me have  contacted Sony, received a case number, and  filled out their necessary forms. All we get is a link to local repair companies that we have to pay to fix, usually for arond 500 to 1,000 dollars.

Until Sony issues a recall and admits there is a major hardware defect affecting thousands (possibly millions) of Android-based TVs which RENDERS THE TV UNUSABLE, typically with sympoms where the TV starts over and over again after reaching the Androids screen. Factory resets are not possible.

Some of the models effected: A2072545A, A2072545C, 1-894-595-11, 189459511, XBR-55X900C, XBR-55X900C, XBR-65X900C, XBR-75X910C MAIN BOARD.

I have contac ted BBB, consumer reports and a class action firm to get the word out. Anything you can do to help get the word out further, will be appreciated.
