Complaint Review: Sony Corporation

Sony Corporation Replaced a defective television with another defective television, refusing to refund. Both sets failed 1-2 months after warranty. NY, New York

This is my second complaint with Sony regarding a defective television set.  I purchased a television in July 2008 and in November 2009 I was no longer to view my television, 2 months after the warranty expired.  After several attempts and phone calls, etc Sony agreed to send me a replacement of lesser value and in which I had to pay partial amount and sales tax.  About 2 months ago, my replacemtn television began mal-functioning and no longer is able to stay powered on.  I contacted Sony, had a tech come out and evaluate it and one tech mentioned it was not worth fixing-because it had to do with the backlight on the LCD panel, while the other technician said perhaps it needs a new valve.

Sony has offered to pay 50% of the cost to repair....I am not pleased because yet again I have a televions that one month after warranty is no longer working.
