I bought a Sony Vaio 4/9/2001, it worked once, then never worked again. I have contacted Sony and a friend that was with me at time of purchase, called Sony. Sony has been unwilling and very rudeabout all this and unwilling to help with this situation. Dixie Promtions, from whom the Laptop was bought said to contact Sony.

When I bought the Laptop, I asked if it had a warranty, "Yes" was the answer, when I got the receipt from Dixie Promotions, by the Model Number it had (refurb). I did not know what that meant and the friend who was with me stated, that guy never said anything about it being a used model. At the bottom of the receipt, it says warranty from manfacturer.

Sony refuses to help and wants to chare $300 to $700 for a piece of junk that they made.

It seems to me, that a company should be aware of and is responsible for whoever is selling their products and help in any way possible.

All I've gotten from Sony is rude customer service people who say "what do you want Sony to do about it"

I am out $1622.67, not an amount that anyone today has to just throw away. I want nothing more than my money back. Is that too much to ask for, I have been ripped off royally by Sony and Dixie Promotions.

There has to be some responsibility on your part for not inquiring why you were getting some great deal.Did you try to return it the same day since you said it only worked 1 time,I would suspect that knew right away the same day.I know when I buy a new electronic toy I use it the same day.If the price was too good to be true its always a good idea to ask questions why it's a out of this world deal.If it wasn't a great deal then you should always buy through a reputable dealer like Best Buy or Circuit City. When you buy anything that is expensive you have to make sure that the are an authorized dealer or the manufacture will not honor any type of warranty.I am sure that this is the case and you failed to mention that they were not a Factory authorized dealer or Sony would have serviced it for free.I own a Sony laptop.Warranty, quality, dependability were all thing I took into consideration before my purchase and I went to Best Buy and bought it.My advise is never buy something that expensive without first shopping around, know what it should cost and only do business with well known chain stores. The fault is your the same as if you broke the law and dint know you were, you would still get arrested and the judge would tell you ignorance is no excuse.I know first hand from a speeding ticket MD law and VA law is different and I was going what would be legal in MD but speeding in VA and the judge told me ignorance is no excuse. It's a tough lesson to learn but remember ask many many ?Sorry to hear about your experience.
