Sony Electronics Warranty is worthless on Sony product El Paso Texas

Bought a Sony surround sound reciever in Feb of 2008. Unit was inside a sealed entertainment center. Unit starts to act up by flashing the words "protect" on the screen, then unit shuts down. Called Sony, they tell me to ship in for warranty service. Ship UPS, track package, shows unit arrived at their warehouse on the 17th of July. Repair calls me on 7/24 informing me that they recieved the reciever on 7/24 and that the unit is being sent back as it was clearly damaged by water....which was a blatent lie on their part. I think thats their answer to any service issue. Arguing with these people is a waste if time as most of the CSR's speak poor english. Left a message for a manager to callback..no response. I called Sonys main number to see what could be done and they told me nothing...its the service depts call.

I asked the tech at Sony how he thought water could find its way into this unit as it was inside a sealed center and why did they say they recieved on 7/24 when UPS shows it was delivered to. Again, no response. My feelings are the warranty that Sony puts on its label is beyond worthless. I sold my PS3 on ebay and vowed never to buy another Sony product.

Filed complaint with BBB and never got a response from Sony.
