SONY LEMON, RIPOFF, NOTEBOOK, VAIO, PIECE OF *&*& Internet
As a christmas gift to myself I bought a BRAND NEW sony vaio notebook on dec, 29, 2005. It was said to be one of the best out there and $1,800.00 later Im sitting here online pleading with you all to never purchase from them.
Within the first few hours of opening my notebook I noticed my it was somewhat slow and kept making clicking noises from the dvd/cd rom area. I contacted the store (BEST BUY) and explained to them the situation; they stated to me that it was "normal". A month later while listening to itunes the computer decided it no longer felt like working and it proceeded to shut off and not turn on again.
Sony sent out a technician to fix the computer two weeks later. Once that was taken care of the computer worked for another 3 weeks before crashing again and doing the same exact thing it did the first time, only this time stating I didnt have the proper operating system loaded in my notebook.
After sitting on the phone with sony for exactly 2 HOURS AND 45 MINUTES I was told excuse after excuse after excuse. After then holding for another hour and a half I finally got a supervisor who felt bad for me and scheduled another person to come out again and fix the notebook.
A month goes by and my notebook never got fixed, I never received a call, and I was left holding on the phone AGAIN to see what was going on. After holding I was told the parts that were ordered were in and that I should have my computer fixed in afew days. Two weeks after that I get a call from the repair lady stating that she had only received a part of my order and couldn't fix the computer without the remaining parts.
Another two weeks goes by before the smart people at Sony realized ooops we ordered the wrong parts for your computer. The repair lady showed me the part orders and what happened was Sony ordered the wrong thing and never changed it so I had been sitting there for over a month with no word waiting on parts that were non exsisting.
Once the young lady received all the parts needed she came out and attempted to fix the computer and was a witness to it acting up. The repiar lady needless to say was unable to fix the notebook, and tried very hard to help me so I wouldn't have to send the computer back to Sony.
Once we realized we could not fix the coputer I called Sony again and they went ahead and sent me a box to return my computer to them to be repaired and sent back to me in 1-2 weeks.
a week and a half goes by and I receive the notebook again... only to see that as before the cd/dvd rom was still making unusual noises, the notebook was shutting off by itself, hibernating and going into standby by itself,etc... As of an hour ago the notebook went ahead and literally blacked out and shut down on me.
I attempted to turn it on again only to find the same error messages I've received in the past stating I didnt have the proper operating system loaded in my notebook. Another hour on the phone complaining only to be told... "Ma'am I don't have a supervisor available, but I will have my manager contact you... give them about a week..."
Im begging and pleading to all of you out there searching to buy a notebook... DO NOT BUY A SONY VAIO!!!!!! It's not worth the headache or stress you will receive once it starts crashing on you and your left unable to do work... trust me...
