I purchased a Sony Vaio desk top computer from Fry's Electronics on 10-28-01, with a $100.00 rebate from Sony.
I mailed off the rebate with the UPC and all other required items on 10-29-01. As of 2-27-02, 4 faxes to 1-973-461-4335 a "SUPERVISORS named Sabrina and Jolee" and still nothing.
I am making it a mission to call 1-800-466-6431 everyday all day. If they have no intentions of paying out the $100.00, I will do everything I can to cost them it. I also will file a complaint with whatever government agencies I can to let them know about this RIPOFF..

I am the the one that got ripped for the $100 Sony Viao rebate listed here.

I just want to tell everyone that has been ripped off by Sony's rebate scam to do what I did, don't get mad get the government involved! I did and within 2 weeks I had gotten my $100 overnighted to me priority mail!!

Here is what I did. I had a copy of my upc, rebate form and cash reciept. I inturn wrote a letter attached the info along with copies of other people on this site that have been ripped off by Sony's rebate and sent it all to the following people, remeber I live in San Diego California so everyone needs to send it to there own city and state people.

I sent copies to: California Attorney General office consumer complaints, Federal Trade commission, Fry's Electronics( both the store I purchased the computer at and there corporate headquarters), New Jersey State Attorney Generals Office, San Diego city attorney's office, San Diego District attorney's office consumer fraud division, Sony of America attn Howard Stringer CEO/PRES New York, and the State of California Dept. of consumer Affairs!

I hit every local, state, and federal office I could think of and after 3 days my phone began to ring off the wall. I was informed that what Sony is doing is FRAUD and if people get there local City and District Attorney involved they too will get results!!
