Complaint Review: Sophia Way

I am writing this well after leaving this place, so no fear of retaliation. Phew. 

How did I end up homeless? Well, in short a city in Washington barred me from my own residence by issuing a no-contact order on me after someone in the home made a bogus police report against me. The nature of the bogus report warranted a no-contact order be issued - immediately. The person desired to 'evict me' although I had a written (and signed) agreement which noted the duration of my stay was at least two months longer. Eviction is a process, so the bogus police report was much easier for the shoddy individual to use. And, sure enough it worked. 

Well, no due process for a bogus police report put me homeless immediately. Seattle and its surrounding areas (even the 'poor' areas) are very well-to do. No one wants to take a case based on the premise of human rights. 

I had slept in a car at times, but never visited a homeless shelter before. In my mind, I thought a homeless shelter would be like a youth hostel. Haha. Wishful thinking!

Sophia Way is a human warehouse of 'cubicles' with beds. There are 20 some cubicles all in a row in the bottom of a church  basement. To get to the cubicles, one must walk through a dining area, and use one of two doors for entry/exit. The 'cubicle area' can be referred to as 'The Coffin.'

The cubicles do not have doors windows and back up against a wall. No doors =  wake up, and there's another person staring right at you from across your cubicle as you undress!  There is a small single 'bed' and sheets are provided. There is a 'storage cabinet' with a lock to hang your clothes. The storage cabinet looks like a 'supply cabinet' for extra paper, staples, miscellaneous office supplies which would be at any local business. 'The staff' have access to your belongings and have an 'extra key.' Upon entry, one signs a whole load of paperwork, which very clearly gives staff full blown permission to go through your belongings. They will, I assure you. 

When you sleep, staff walk by the 'cubicles' and take inventory on people, to make sure they are sleeping. Inventory? A five year old, or 7 year old, or someone actually in a jail cell has more freedom than what the staff offer at The Sophia Way. Further 'watch tactics' include 'spy cameras' in the facility, so they have you on camera in your nighttime attire. 

At The Sophia Way, you aren't allowed to stay up in your bed and read past a certain time, and if you want to go outside for fresh air at say, 2:00 a.m. - you can't go out. When I had a long-term apartment (I'm well over age 30), I would get out of the apartment, and go for a walk, breathe in fresh air, or sit on a deck or porch what have you. Not here.

So, if a cubicle at Sophia Way were a room to be rented in a house, it would fail the legal requirements set forth by the State of Washington simply in terms of the SF area/space provided and not having a window. I hope you take some time to read these two links.

There are so many 'rules' at a homeless shelter, that my brain cells hurt, and I am so glad to be free of Hell. Hell does exist, and it is at this illegal facility called The Sophia Way.

In terms of transportation:  No car = bus stops running at 7pm. City buses go all night 'till 2am. Don't try to use a bus in the suburbs of America, just do not even bother. 

Next, a female staff member named Jamie Triggs, outed a disability that I had to another 'client' and vice versa. I was uncomfortable knowing another person in the facility had a hearing impairment. I was appalled to find others knew of my 'disability.' Ms. Triggs, shame on you for 'outing me.' It's against HIPPA.  It was very difficult to reach Ms. Triggs supervisor for a formal complaint. Fast forward, and after at least one formal complaint was in, I was retaliated against by Ms. Triggs, who would say things such as, "well you don't have to stay here, there's the door." That's called abuse of a vulnerable adult. Sadly, verbal abuse is perfectly legal. 

Ms. Triggs, in addition,  disclosed the citizenship of a different woman there, and tried to use it as a defense of why we 'may be having an interpersonal conflict.' Ms. Triggs stated, "xxx is from (insert country), so she may not understand English very well." Scout's honor.

Ms. Jamie Triggs, also is employed at the Congregations of the Homeless. She was constantly juggling too much work, and complaining about it to people staying there aka 'clients.' Ms. Triggs was also caught taking 'selfies' with other people who live there, which is fraternization. I mentioned all this to my therapist, who has informed others in the non-profit sectors in the area. 

Here's the thing: The Eastside ( the cities of Bellevue and Redmond - east of Seattle) is a wealthy area. We are talking multi-lingual doctors, from Western Europe, Asia, India. Homes go for $700,000 USD and higher. High, high intellect of many inhabitants. If you are a perceived 'problem', you are unwanted. I tried to contact attorneys regarding the unjust nature of my situation, to have proper due process. None would take the case. So, you see? That's how you get trapped! The attorneys, at large, are more concerned with holding up a reputation of their firm, than human rights violations. 

In addition, to being warehoused at The Sophia Way's illegal 'facility', I tried the 'mat program.' haha. They have these blue mats:glasgowcitymission.com/about-us/what-we-do/glasgow-winter-night-shelter.php. It looks like a hurricane shelter. What a disgrace! Someone from their team literally stays up all night and watches people sleep, too. You exit in the middle of the night - no re-entry. i.e. no midnight walks.  Would you like someone to come into your bedroom and stand over you for 8 hours, and watch you sleep? To have you 'sleeping' on camera? Watch, watch, watch - morning, middle, and night.

The night time place offered food, and it was often serviced by girl scouts earning a community service badge. Or, just a community member who knows absolutely nothing about homelessness - likely going home to a safe, well-heated, well ventilated room in a house, sleeping in a bed.

I had a life, was self-employed, work history prior, education, a skilled trade, you know? I don't want to see some 8 year old right before my 'curfew' or bedtime. The Sophia Way is a mommy who gives adult females a bedtime. So, you better abide, or you will not be invited back. 

Also,  is extremely narcissistic to have such public relations around people's suffering. Sometimes, The Sophia Way aka Fraud Way would take photos of people's cubicles and upload it onto social media, like Facebook. Would you upload photos of your son or daughter's room and put them on a website for all to see? Would you upload photos of your own bedroom onto a website for all to see?  

How I ended up leaving - well that's a whole other story. But, when I did, it was abrupt. I had a spiritual altar that was dis-assembled by the 'staff' there. Rocks, twigs, leaves, etc. This place bashes spirituality, and did so by not only touching, but removing my spiritual altar. Many of the precious artifacts were forever lost. My items were housed in black garbage bags  - yes, garbage bags that look like this: globalindustrial.com/p/janitorial-maintenance/trash-bags/trash-bags-liners/global-174-black-trash-bags-33-gallon-1-0-mil-100-case?infoParam.campaignId=T9F&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI5aeX49re3QIVio9-Ch1o-gzyEAQYBSABEgIB6PD_BwE. But, they contained not garbage. The remnants of my spiritual altar - leaves, rocks, candles, essential oils were cast into a bag with everything. I had the fortune of having someone help me to get the items removed via a motor vehicle, so I was able to at least salvage my personal affects. 

So the complaints are: You outed my 'disabling condition', violated my privacy by watching me on camera, offered to me an illegal, confined space in which to sleep, rummaged through my personal belongings when I was not present, disregarded my spiritual practice and disassembled my spiritual altar, touched my personal belongings (illegal for a landlord to do) and bagged them into a large garbage bag that should be filled with leaves (not personal affects), and ruined many of my items, as my essential oils spilled all over some of the clothes, paperwork, wallets, etc, which I had. You are charged with bullying, harassment, HIPPA violations, spiritual abuse (karma will get you), and depersonalization (mistreatment of myself - not as a person, but as a way for you to obtain a paycheck at the expense of my suffering). Thank you for publically displaying my suffering to the entire community. I truly appreciate it. 

Doing any of the aforementioned to a 7 year old child would be constituted as ABUSE. Period. Would a parent destroy his child's property? Lock him out of the house? Give him no food? Tell everyone his son uses a hearing aid. I think not. The Sophia Way is a very naughty 'parent' to its 'children.'

If you remember anything, remember this: They Need YOU to have a job! Period. Read it again: They need YOU to have a job.

Sleeping outside may be a 'dangerous freedom' but it sure trumps the 'peaceful slavery' offered by The Hostage House at Fraud Way. Your mind will be free, as will your Spirit. Truly, it will. Honor yourself! You deserve love.

Don't surrender your rights! Uphold your personal dignity and self-respect by not supporting this dis-organization, The Sophia Way. 

Part 2: 

The fact that a homeless shelter even exists is a sign the community is failing. The fact that more than one homeless shelter exists is a sign the World is coming to an end.

Why? Well, this is due to the monetary system and hierarchical structure 'Us' (the paid staff) vs. 'you' (the homeless hoodlum), which divide people. There is a dependency model, where the weaker has to rely on the 'stronger.' Now, this wouldn't be so much of a problem, except for the 'stronger' is collecting a paycheck at the expense of the 'weaker.' 

See the problem? 

Not telling anyone what to think here, but rather, what to think about. It's undignified. The 'stronger' gets to go home, cook a warm meal, use cookware, have access to heat or air conditioning if he or she desires, which the 'weaker' has not.

There is a divide. In a civil community and, world, the 'stronger' would not fear the 'weaker' and invite him or her into his or her own home. If he felt moved, that is. But, being that in a civil society, monetary systems would not be such a divide, the 'stronger' knowing 'the weaker' would be at the mercy of the elements, would have more of an inherent nature to give. 

America, in terms of first world nations go, is all about lawsuits. Galore. See, here, people are more afraid of being 'sued' so, the kind of help that can and will be offered is limited to that of protecting the arse of the (dis) organization, as opposed to taking MORE risks to helping the people in need. 

Sophia Way should not exist. There is much abuse here to 'clients', by 'staff' which is to be noted below. See, the very nature of the Staff vs. Client theme - one who enters into here is not a person, but a 'client.'  The 'clients' make up false 'dirty laundry' and then psychologically project, as well, to get attention from other unaware/gullible/unconscious 'staff' and/or 'clients' while the few that are awake see very clearly the ruse. Those people run the show and win. 



So, in the end, nothing about you is safe. Don't go here - period!
